A dual-bay SCSI tabletop case featuring your choice of CDROM and Card Reader drive configurations.
The case is used but in near-perfect condition. The power supply and SCSI connectors have
been replaced so the case is in original factory operating condition. A perfect tabletop unit for use with
your sampler.
For all Combos featuring the SCSI Card Reader drives, we ship the Combo units with the cooling fan disabled,
as it is not needed. For Combos featuring the SCSI Hard Drives, the cooling fan
will be enabled, as it is required in order to keep those 3.5" hard drives sufficently cool. The Combos with the
40GB Hard drive will not need the cooling fan, as the 2.5" notebook hard drive it uses puts out almost zero
heat. You can read more about this Hard drive option below.
The case has a front-mounted power switch and two rear-mounted SCSI ID selector
switches, along with two SCSI-1 Centronics connectors in the back that allow you to access both drives from
one sampler. Internal termination is disabled for maximum flexibility in hooking it up and we include a
terminator plug, AC power cable (US/Canada shipments only) and operating instructions.
Choose the SCSI drive configuration that suits your needs from the list below. If you don't see the exact
configuration you need, please contact us and we'll put together a custom configuration just for you.
40GB Hard Drive: You'll notice that some of these combo configurations include a 40GB Hard drive - this is a 2.5" IDE notebook
hard drive that has a SCSI to IDE converter attached. This is a really nice and fast hard drive unit and it
makes no noise at all and requires no cooling fan, so the combo will run in silence. This is a a good option
if you own a sampler like the Akai MPC2000 Classic or MPC2000XL, as both samplers can use 24GB
of the hard drive, or an Akai S5000/S6000, as both samplers can use all 40GB, or a Yamaha Motif, as
all three Motif Classic models can use 36GB of the hard drive. Any EMU sampler running EOS 4 or higher
will be able to use all 40GB of the drive as well. We have the 40GB Hard drive available in a 1U Glyph rack

Akai MPC2000XL owners: Please note that our CF-CARD drive requires that your XL have os
version 1.14 installed. If you do not have 1.14, you will need to install it in order to use compact
flash cards larger than 1GB in capacity. You can get the 1.14 version
here and if you don't have a way to install it, contact
us for assistance.
Akai MPC3000/MPC3000LE owners: Please note that the Spyrus MCDISK-2 and the Microtech
PCD-47B drives both require that your MPC has the Mansell-Labs Vailixi 3.5 operating system
installed in order to use these drives. Our own CF-CARD drive will work with either the Akai or Vailixi
operating systems.
Akai MPC2000 Classic and Ensoniq ASR owners: We will make you bootable CF
cards any time, any quantity, for no charge, whether you buy your card reader drive from us or not.
You don't even have to purchase the compact flash cards from us (although it is nice when you do!).
